Our People
Robert C. Alexander, CPA (North Carolina Certificate Number 18737 and Virginia Certificate Number 7035) is a 1975 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University (VA Tech). He worked in the
corporate accounting environment gaining eighteen years of
practical experience and knowledge before beginning his public
practice in 1989. In 1991 he was joined by Mark W. Chandler,
CPA (North Carolina Certificate Number 23412) and the Professional Association of Alexander & Chandler,
P.A. was formed.
Mark W. Chandler, CPA is a 1982 graduate of Appalachian State
University and is a Kernersville native. He was employed in
the transportation industry prior to joining the firm in 1991.
Rebecca L. Slate, Staff Accountant is a 1999 graduate of Guilford
Technical Community College. She has performed accounting
functions for governmental agencies and the private sector
for twelve years prior to joining the firm.

Our History
Rob and Mark, associates of several local community and charitable
organizations began meeting in 1988 and developed a business
plan for Alexander & Chandler, P.A., Certified Public
Accountants. The original firm, a proprietorship of Robert
C. Alexander, CPA opened in 1989 offering general accounting,
financial consultation, and tax services for businesses and
individuals. Mark joined the firm in 1991 and the professional
corporation of Alexander & Chandler, P.A. was formed.
The firm established a special niche in small-business start
up with continued emphasis on personal service. Rob and Mark
were fortunate when Becky joined the firm as staff Accountant
in 1997. Her ideals and professionalism mirror those of the
owners. Through her the firm offers full-service bookkeeping
both on-site and off. Other clerical employees round out the
firm and, with their dedication and professionalism, are valued
assets.

Our Credentials
Our firm's licensing enables us to practice public accounting
in both North Carolina and Virginia. Our professionals are
members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants
and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Our firm participates in the Peer Review program prescribed
by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
